Advanced Classes
Our Young Creator’s Alliance Classes are intended for High School and Middle Students at the intermediate to advanced skill level. Classes are offered on Wednesdays from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM.
Our dance curriculum is based on professional standards of technique and creative expression. ACT offers classes for teenagers at all levels of experience. Classes are designed to develop proper technique as well as build self-esteem and self-confidence. We have alumni performing on Broadway stages, in major ballet companies, and in pre-professional and professional performing arts programs across the nation. Students learn critical techniques, body coordination, articulation of the feet and ankle, how to utilize body weight effectively, the essence of fluidity and stability of the spine, and a variety of value systems, aesthetics, and approaches to performing.
Throughout the course of our program, students study a basic to advanced knowledge of the history, origin, and tradition of dance as an art form. In addition to developing their dance abilities, students cultivate a nuanced understanding of collaboration in the creative process through leadership, participation, and reflection. Our classes and workshops provide an environment that enhances students’ creative potential and creative critical thinking skills.
